Empties - Feb & March

This is my first ever empties post and I love reading other people's empties posts so I hope this will be interesting for others. Normally I don't finish using most of my products as I have a tendency of using them for a week or something then forgetting about them. After a while all my items collate and now it's overflowing therefore I am trying to use up all the sample products I've received from my beauty box subscriptions. Currently I am to finish as many products as possible before purchasing new ones, to make more room and to save up money!

The products I finished this month are:

NOTD: Easter Nails!

It has been quite a while since I posted my last notd or nail art post although I have several posts reviewing some polishes. Today I would like to share with you my nails which I did for Easter, some may have seen already if you follow me on instagram. I don't like the white shade I used since it looks more like a pearly white / silver and it doesn't look that nice.

Sorry for the bad lighting in the photos! The colours are clearer in my instagram photo here

The polishes I used to create this look are:

March Wish list

Happy Easter everyone!

I honestly can't believe it's almost the end of March now meaning we are officially a quarter into the year! From February's wish list I have actually bought some items that I was really eager to try or wanted but there are some items not so much anymore. I'm the kind of person who if they like something, they will buy it - no questions asked. Whenever someone asks me what I want for my birthday, I really don't know how to answer them since I would have bought the things already or are just too expensive. However now that I have no source of income, my wish list will be forever growing. :(

Since my last wish list post, here are a few items that I've been wanting to try and buy!

MUA - Undress Me Palette
Benefit Cosmetics - Fine One One
Lancome - Blush In Love
Lancome - Baume In Love
Australis - Curve Liquid Eyeliner
Australis - Pout Paste
Sportsgirl - Comic Relief Beanie
Topshop - Knitted Applique Panda Jumper

I want more beanies and knitwear in general as I want to prepare my wardrobe for winter. Although it's Autumn right now in Sydney, the weather has been unbelievably hot these past couple of days (not that I'm complaining).

There are a few other items I've been lusting over but these are the ones that are currently off the top of my head!

What's on your wish list at the moment?

Have a safe and enjoyable long weekend everyone! :)

Etude House - Sweet Recipe Ice Cream Nails

Hi lovelies, how are you all?!

Today I have another really, REALLY cute item to share with everyone and it's a nail polish from Etude House's new collection Sweet Recipe. I purchase this from a reliable Ebay seller f2plus1 and my ice cream came wrapped in bubble wrap along with two random sachet samples in a tiny box.

I don't think I have ever came across a nail polish that looked so cute before. There are four shades available: 01 Mint, 02 Yellow, 03 Orange, and 04 Pink (the names are in Korean and I don't know Korean so yeah!). It is a glitter polish and they do remind me of Australis' Milky Way polish which I reviewed here and Illamasqua's Speckled Nail Polish range.

Holika Holika - Magic Pole Mascara

You are probably thinking "What the f*ck?! What is a magic pole mascara?". Don't worry, that was my reaction when I first read the name of this mascara. Holika Holika is a Korean brand that sells a wide range of beauty and skincare products. If you follow me on Instagram, you would have known that I made another purchase from Koreadepart and I had yet another positive experience!

This Magical mascara vows to look beautiful and glamorous for all day long without a smudge or smear. The two-parted wand allows you to sculpt the perfect lash: The stick-part coats with amazing volume and the ball part separates. It lasts through rain, swear, humidity, and tears, yet the formula removes easily with warm water.

March Bellabox and Lust Have It

Hey beautiful - this is such a delayed post but I've been so busy this week with uni and what not. Last Friday both my Bellabox and Lust Have It arrived at the same time which is a first but I wasn't able to pick them up from the post office until Monday. For this month I've decided to combine both boxes together into one post and compare my overall thoughts.

Now lets start off with Bellabox first.

This month's theme is "Delicious Beauty"for the month of Easter I'm guessing but there was nothing Easter about the box. BB claimed to have broke a "rule" by treating members with two colour products instead of one to "achieve a super sweet kind of beauty".

Ocean Essence - Summer Breeze Shower Gel
Full size - 20ml RRP $4.95
Apparently this is a luxe product and I'm quite confused as to how a 20ml shower gel can be a full sized product. How much use will you get out of it? However it is a great size for travelling. The shower gel is SLS and paraben free and excellent for those with sensitive and dry skin - great for me when it's winter.

Lonvitalite - Crystal Moisturising Hand Mask

Last month I received a hand mask from my Lust Have It box and I totally forgot about it until last week when I was cleaning my desk. There were two different hand masks available but I received the Crystal Moisturising Hand Mask from Lonvitalite.

The C9 Crystal Moisturising Hand Mask is ideal for hands that are rough and dry. The Magnesium in the hand mask allows a fast and deep penetration, cleansing the skin and detoxifying the entire dermis enhancing the natural hydration of the skin and encouraging the production of collagen already present in the skin. The ideal hand treatment to rejuvenate and moisture dry and coarse hands.

Ingredients: Aqua, Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Panthenol, Allantoin, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower, ExtractCarbomer, Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate, Phenoxyethanol, Arginine, Peg-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ascorbyl Glucoside, Parfum, Methylisothiazolinone, Magnesium

The hand mask has a floral fragrance that isn't too overpowering; I don't know exactly what kind of scent it is since I'm so bad at deciphering smells. When you open the sachet both hand masks are folded neatly together and soaked in essence like a normal face mask.

To use the hand mask, follow the directions below:
1. Wash the hands then immerse them in hot water for 1 minute to increase circulation
2. Apply the hand mask and leave on for 20-30 minutes
3. Massage hands every few minutes until remaining essence is absorbed
4. After 30 minutes remove hand mask and discard

Essence Circus Circus - My Sparkling Acrobat

Last week I was browsing around Priceline before work, which is never a good thing, and ended up buying three nail polishes. One of them was Essence's 01 My Sparkling Acrobat from their Circus Circus range now available in Australia.

I've been lusting over gold glittery polishes for some time now so when I was walking down the aisles, this baby caught my attention. It looks so beautiful and I find this to be an excellent purchase - for $5.50 you receive 2 x 4ml of product. If you haven't already, I urge you to check out the Circus Circus range as everything looks so sparkly and glittery and the colour theme is mainly red, pink, gold, and black.

I have never tried any of Essence's nail products but this baby left a good impression. Now I have to try resist myself from buying more polishes!

Maybelline - Colour Sensation High Shine Lip Gloss

Hey lovelies! So a few days ago I received my first ever Her Fashion Box and inside I received a Maybelline Colour Sensation High Shine Lip Gloss in the shade 040 Captivating Coral. You would probably know by know that I'm not really a fan of lip gloss simply because I don't like the texture.

I find the packaging to be quite average but not cheap like those plastic tube glosses. It would have been good to include some branding so it'd be easier to identify which product you are using for future references.

Google & Lust Have It Announcement

Hey everyone! Not sure if all of you have already heard but I will inform you anyways.

Google
Google has decided to discontinue Google Reader on 1st July therefore many people will not be able to track their favourite blogs and any other websites anymore easily. This has caused a heap of burden for many and there is a petition going around on change.org to 'Keep Google Reader Running'.

To my followers who use Google Reader to keep up to date with my posts, I urge you to use Bloglovin' from now on as an alternative if you haven't already. Click here or the Bloglovin' button in the sidebar.

Lust Have It!
Another announcement I want to share with my Australian followers is that Lust Have It will be increasing their prices to $19.95/month. LHI has been around for 18 months and they are striving to provide their customers with higher quality products from more international brands, more full sized products etc. - basically improving their boxes.

Existing customers will be able to continue paying $14.95 for the next six months (only on successive payments). If you wish to subscribe for an annual subscription, use the code ANNUAL to receive a discount and pay $160 instead of whatever price they will be setting. If you want to subscribe to a monthly subscription, you can use the code FRIEND so receive your first box for $14.95!

So that's all I wanted to share with you, have a nice day! :)

First ever Her Fashion Box - Trendy!

Hey everyone! On Tuesday afternoon I received a card from the postie telling me to pick up a parcel and I immediately knew it was my Her Fashion Box! I didn't have time to pick it up until yesterday and I was planning to post a video but that didn't go too well (I felt too awkward haha).

Her Fashion Box is a monthly subscription box similar to LHI and Bellabox. Each month you will receive a full size or deluxe size sample of beauty and fashion products, as well as lifestyle goods. It's a bit on the expensive side at $39.95 a month but it was previously going for $49.95. There are three different boxes to choose from - trendy, classic, and feminine - and there's also a beauty profile that you fill in upon signing up.

I chose the trendy box as I decided to jump out of my comfort zone and try products that I probably normally wouldn't choose myself. Her Fashion Box was having a special for their first box so I bought mine for $24.95 to see if this box is worth the money and what kind of contents I will be receiving. Please bear with me if the photo quality is bad since they're from my phone and I'm typing this while at uni!

So this black cardboard box is wrapped inside the pink cardboard box. The size is considerably larger than Bellabox and slightly bigger than the new collector boxes from Lust Have It.

Versatile Blogger Award

Hi lovelies! Jac from Matilly's This and That has kindly nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award. I recommend you guys to visit and follow her blog - she has been a wonderful follower of mine since I first started blogging. Once again, it's a great way for readers to know more about the blogger as well as discover new blogs at the same time.

So here are the rules!
1. Thank the person who nominated you.
2. Include a link to their blog.
3. Select 15 new blog/bloggers you've recently discovered or follow regularly.
4. Nominate those bloggers for a Versatile Blogger Award, leave a link to their page and a comment on their latest post to let them know they've been nominated.
5. Tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.

Here are seven (hopefully interesting) facts about myself for you to read Jac:

1. I used to be fairly active in sports back in primary school and high school. I was a part of the school basketball and netball team, as well as the girl's knock out basketball team. I also loved my 100m sprint in athletics and I was a part of the relay team as well. I also enjoy playing volleyball and badminton!

2. I have a sister who is older than me by 14 years and an aunt to two nieces and a nephew.

3. I've been through many music genre phases. I used to listen to pop > r&b > heavy metal & rock > r&b > Jpop & Kpop > hardstyle & trance. I don't think I would be able to stand heavy metal anymore though.

4. I discovered the world of online shopping at the age of 14, six years ago. Well... more like I was introduced to Paypal from a friend so she's the catalyst.

5. I've worked as an Election Official and Declaration Officer for the State and Local Elections. Long hours and repetitive tasks but great money!

6. I have a REALLY bad habit of sleeping at past 2am every single day pretty much doing nothing. The latest I will stay up till is 4am at most, if I don't have work or uni the next day.

7. I own an Ermanno Scervinno jacket worth over $1k that my aunt bought for me four years ago that I have never worn out yet. I also own a Burberry Blue Label coat that I have only worn out once.

And the nominees are...
Bui - The Strain
Susie - Susievibes
Hannah - Hannah Hearts
Rebekah - Bkahg92
Susan - Novel Ave
Alison - Alison*elle
Tara & Jade - The Style Rawr

I currently don't have the time to go inform my nominees they've been nominated since homework is calling for me... However, please do visit these wonderful bloggers (and maybe inform them hehe)!

Have a wonderful week everyone! :)

The Procrastinating Beauty Blogger TAG

Thank you to the lovely Hannah at Hannah Hearts for tagging me to do this post. This is definitely a great way for me to procrastinate and avoid doing my homework - I feel like I'm already swamped with it though it's only my first week. So bad!

Rules:

1. You must copy and paste these 'rules' onto your post when you write it, it doesn't take long!.
2. You must state that this tag was created by 'The Beau Bow' and link www.thebeaubow.blogspot.com
3. You must thank the person who tagged you at the start of your post (link their blog as well) -follow them if you're feeling nice!, and then at the end of your post state who you tag, and then comment on their blog on their latest post to let them know you tagged them, and link your post so they can see what to do.
4. Title this post 'The Procrastinating Beauty Blogger TAG' so everyone knows what it is about.
5. Have fun! :)

1.Name a beauty regime that you rarely do?
I am too lazy to cleanse my face properly and use face wipes instead. I take advantage of my face being pimple free most of the time, so when I have a pimple or two I start cleansing my face properly hoping that the pimple will disappear faster hahaha

2. Is washing your makeup brushes something you do regularly?
I wash them when I'm bothered... I don't use much make up on a daily basis so I don't really find the need to.

3. How long will you last with chipped nail polish?
Once my nails are chipped I aim to remove them the same day they chip. If not I wait until my next day off work so my nail polish will last longer without being chipped due to work.

4. How long do you put off buying/replacing a beauty or nail polish product even if you need it? (i.e purchasing a new topcoat, or a new foundation etc.)
I never buy replacement nail polish products unless it's like nail polish remover or a base/top coat. Usually I purchase two items at a time but one item should last for some time. As for beauty products, I like to try new things and I tend to have a few of the same type lying around so there's no need for replacements.

5. What is your worst beauty habit?
I think it would be always picking at my pimples then trying to cover it up with concealer when it's all red... Or not cleansing my face properly cause I'm too lazy.

6. Name something non-beauty related that you put off doing all the time?
My homework and assessments!

7. When going out somewhere, do you leave getting ready until the last minute or not?
I usually give myself half an hour to get ready which is enough for me most of the time. If it's for special occasions I try to plan ahead. I don't like rushing as I tend to forget to do something most of the time and I don't like being late or making others wait for me.

8. Can you commit to spending bans?
Never! I always tell my boyfriend "I'm not going to spend or buy anything for a month!" but I end up making small impulse purchases here and there a few days later.

9. How organised is your makeup and nail polish collection?
Not very. I've chucked them all in this huge A4 three tiered storage box so if I want to find something I'd have to dig through the lot but I don't think I have that much make up.

10. What is the longest amount of time you have gone without writing a blog post?
Errr.... one or two days? I think it's going to be longer in a few weeks when I'm stressed with uni work and have no more motivation to do anything. So my apologies in advance!

And I tag:
Dawn - See it, Love it, Swatch it
Tram - Beauty with the Beautifool
Susan - Novel Ave
Jac - Matilly's This and That
YOU!

100 Followers + Nails for Autumn / Winter: Part 2

Sometime during the last few days I reached 100 followers! I just wanted to say thank you everyone for your support so far as I honestly can't believe there are actually people out there who enjoy reading what I write :) For some 100 followers might not mean much but it means so much to those just starting a new blog like me. Also, I'm feeling a bit generous after my last event so keep an eye out for the next giveaway.

Today I will be continuing with Part Two of nail shades you can wear for winter! If you haven't seen part one yet, click here! The colours featured in this post are great for those who still want their nails to be colourful. Don't always opt for the dark shades or black as a bit of colour can really make a difference to anything.

Louis Vuitton Fall 2013

Hey everyone! Another fashion post today. Yesterday Louis Vuitton had their Fashion Runway and the wigs, make up, and collection really remind me of the olden days. What caught my attention were the shimmery coats. Anything sparkly becomes instantly interesting and pretty, right? Here are a few snapshots from the event if you missed out :)

Nails for Autumn/Winter: Part 1

It's amazing how time flies - it feels like only yesterday I was with my boyfriend and two other friends watching fireworks on NYE and I was ridiculously tired, trying to sleep in the car while we decided to head to the beach at midnight. We have already approached March meaning it's autumn for some like me and winter for others.

In the colder months, we all tend to wear dark, dull, or neutral clothing as well as nail polishes. Being the nail polish addict I am, I actually have a number of polishes that I find are great for the colder seasons which I haven't tried or haven't used in a long time. Over the next few weeks I will be posting swatches of polishes from my collection which I think are great for the upcoming seasons!

Blog title inspiration

Recently the DJ who 'inspired' me to name my blog title 'Dream Dust' released a promo mix for the upcoming hardstyle festival IQON in Sydney. It sounds SOOOOOOO good in my opinion but this genre of music isn't everyone's cup of tea - it's too loud, meaningless, or repetitive for some.

[cr: Frontliner]

I'd like to share with everyone the new promo mix as it's something I love.

Frontliner is a Dutch DJ from Amsterdam, Netherlands so a shout out to any Netherland followers who love hardstyle! He produces amazing tracks that really gets my energy pumping and they're always great to dance to. I find that he's sort of underrated in comparison to Headhunterz and Wildstylez - not saying they don't produce awesome tracks but Frontliner should get more fame!

Anyways, for anyone who's interested here is the tracklist:
1. Frontliner - Come On!
2. Frontliner ft. John Harris - Halos
3. Frontliner - All In This Together
4. Frontliner - I'm The Melodyman
5. Frontliner - Dream Dust (Qlimax 2012 Edit)
6. Technoboy - Rage (Frontliner Remix)
7. Frontliner ft. John Harris - Never Come Down (Q-Base 2012 Live Edit)
8. Frontliner ft. Nikkita - Death Of A Demon
9. Frontliner - Symbols (Q-Base 2012 O.S.T.)

For my Australian followers - if anyone is interested in attending IQON on 20th April, tickets are on sale for $140. I am an ambassador for Q-dance so you can purchase hard copy tickets  with merchandise through me or you can purchase them online on moshtix and use the discount code "110168" for a $5 discount!

Hope you're enjoying your weekend! x

The Face Shop - Design My Eyebrows

Hey sexy ladies (and gents)!

I have something exciting (for me) that I wanted to share with everyone - I finally bought my Mac Mini that I've been wanting since last year and appeared on my February Wishlist post (here). I already own a Macbook Pro 13" and adjusting to my desktop monitor is a bit weird for me because everything is bigger! If anyone ever plans to buy a Mac Mini, please note that it does NOT come with a cd/dvd drive and if you plan on webcamming be sure your webcam has a built in mic without the microphone cord as the Mac Mini does not have a microphone line. Also, double check that your monitor uses DVI (male end) as the box only provides you with a really short HDMI to DVI adaptor (female end) or else you have to buy an extension cable with the right ends... I've learnt my lesson.

Besides that, I'm starting uni next Tuesday so I won't have that much time to post as much as I would love to so please don't forget about me!

Yesterday I purchased a Design My Eyebrows eyebrow pencil from The Face Shop while I was in the city. The only eyebrow pencil I've ever tried is the e.l.f Studio Eyebrow Lifter & Filler which is very creamy and dark and I struggle with it sometimes as I have Asian eyebrows - light and sparse. Whenever I fill in my eyebrows it looked too dark or maybe I'm not used to seeing myself with eyebrows haha. In the past I never really cared about my eyebrows but I must say, your eyebrows are so important in framing your face.

A smart triangular automatic eyebrow pencil that you can adjust the angle to make the inner eyebrows thick and the outer part thin. A smart triangular automatic eyebrow pencil that you can adjust the angle to create any shape you want. A more modern and simple design

  • A trendy design that can appeal to young consumers
  • New formula that suits the new market and make up trend
  • Soft texture that completely adheres to the eyebrow and powerful long lasting abilities
  • A triangular shaped pencil for easier application
This is a double ended eyebrow pencil - a spooly brush at one end and the pencil at the other. I don't understand the moustache design but that's what makes the packaging cute I guess.

There's nothing special about the spooly brush so I didn't take a picture. The pencil is shaped in a very thin isosceles triangle instead of a normal pointed pencil. I find that with this provides greater coverage and easier to create lines, similar to filling your eyebrows with an angled liner brush.
