It's Skin - Macaron Lip Balm

Hey lovelies! There are four days left until the winner will be announced for my giveaway. If you haven't entered yet, hurry up and get cracking!

Today I want to review another item from my Korea Depart haul and the packaging looks just as cute as the Babyface Pure Lipstick. This time it's It's Skin Macaron Lip Balm and it's so adorable. Followers of my instagram will have seen a photo of it already and it looks just like a real macaron (note: it's spelt macaron, not macaroon so please don't get confused!). I also purchased this item on the spur of the moment because of the packaging.

For those who have not tried a macaron before, I urge you to go try one now! It tastes so deliciously good and sweet, it just melts in your mouth mmmmm...

Now if only I could eat this...
I purchased this in #1 Strawberry and there are three others to choose from: grape, green apple, and pineapple. If only I could virtually let you have a smell of this lip balm because it's very sweet and nice. It has a very strong strawberry scent in the container but once you apply it on your lips it's very subtle.

To open the macaron, you simply untwist the top and you get 9g worth of product. The only problem with the design of the packaging is applying the product using your fingers. Some people might be bothered by this and find it unhygienic but I'm not too worried. I think I read on someone's blog that you can also apply the product by kissing the lip balm, hmmm...

It's Skin claims that this lip balm will moisturise and nourish dry lips. The key ingredients are vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, shea butter, cocoa butter, and chrysanthemum extract.

Although it's very pigmented in the container, it applies onto the lips opaque with a glossy sheen.

I like how moisturising it is on my lips but I'm not sure if it's nourishing? It would have been interesting if the lip balm tasted nice as well to give it the whole macaron feel but it's tasteless.

Every time I whip out this macaron, everyone is intrigued and find it really cute. It's definitely one of the cutest, most interesting, and best purchases from my order. What cute beauty products have you purchased before? Do share!

  2. I wish I could eat macarons but I'm allergic to nuts and they're made with almond paste :( This lip balm is adorable though... it really does look like a macaron!

  4. Haha, I actually don't have the "if only I could eat this" with macarons in general... they're always too pretty to eat! I hate breaking them (the real ones)!

    1. I know what you mean. They're so delicious to look at, expensive to buy, and once you finish eating it it's like "there goes my money..."

  6. Cutest packaging ever! I hate lipglosses without a slight taste though, the plain bland ones just aren't as nice to wear! Looks really glossy though!

    Lovely review!
