NOTD: Camouflage Colour - Lilac

Wow I feel like I haven't done a nail post in a while!

Last week I received my Lust Have It box which included a nail lacquer as one of the items. As mentioned I would do swatches and show everyone how they look on the nails. To be honest I wasn't quite fond of the shade I received but to my surprise I really like it!

Camouflage Colour nail lacquers are all natural where the main ingredient is silica - derived from sand and horsetail plant. These nail lacquers are supposed to last up to 10 days without chipping and available in 40 shades.

I've read on the LHI Facebook page and a few bloggers that they experienced really gooey and bad formulas from the nail lacquer so I was hoping mine wouldn't be the same. I gave my bottle a good shake before using it and I had no problems with the application!

Artificial lighting, first coat

The first coat went on smoothly but the brush is quite average. The colour is very pigmented but a second coat is needed to even out the colour.

Artificial light, second coat with Seche Vite top coat

The formula is non-streaky and drying time is quite average. Even after the second coat, it was easy to apply and doesn't thicken up.

For those who had problems applying the lacquer, maybe try shaking the bottle a bit more to even out the consistency of the formula. I didn't try it before I shook it though so I'm not 100% sure about it. Overall I love the shade I received even though I underestimated it at first and the formula was alright.

Bare Minerals - Flawless Definition Curl & Lengthen Mascara

A few weeks ago I was rummaging through my make up as I just bought a new storage box to chuck everything in there and I was looking at the number of mascaras I have. I always buy mascaras, use them once, hate them and they will never see the daylight again. As I was deciding what to keep and what to throw away, I was trying each mascara I had as well.

I tend to like mascaras that really lengthen my lashes and make my lashes look natural and not thick so this baby really impressed me!
Flawless Definition Curl & Lengthen Mascara delivers maximum curl for dramatically long lashes with extra body and definition. Infused with an essential blend of minerals, antioxidants and natural extracts to fortify and condition lashes with no clumping, smudging or flaking. The dual-length bristle of the full curl wand pulls lashes up and back, while the long-wearing formula holds the curl in place. Lashes get instant body shaping results.

I bought a Bare Minerals 9 piece value set for $49 from Sephora (now out of stock) and this full sized mascara was included. It retails for $18 in the US and I'm not sure about Australia.

The wand is shaped like an hourglass with shorter bristles in the middle and longer bristles towards outside. This makes it easier to coat those hard to reach lashes that you always miss.

It's available in two shades: Black, and Espresso.

The formula does not contain any: parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances and dyes, petrochemicals, plthalates, GMOs, and triclosan. It has also been tested for contact lens wearers and proven to be safe!

So how well does this mascara perform?

Missha - M Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF42 PA+++

Hey lovelies! I haven't finished reviewing all of the products from my Koreadepart haul so today will be another review from my haul. Everyone is probably sick of hearing bb cream by now and would have read or have already tried Missha's M Perfect BB Cream SPF42 PA+++.

Missha's bb cream is one of the most raved about product alongside Skin79's Super+ BB Cream Pink.
The M Perfect Cover BB Cream gives an even and natural looking coverage with the soothing, moisturising properties of a cream. It is a suitable for all skin types including acne-prone skin, and can be used as a make up base or foundation.

There is 50ml worth of product in this tube which can be dispensed hygienically using the pump.

The ingredients used in this product are
Water(Aqua), Cyclomethicone, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Zinc Oxide, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Mineral Oil, Phenyl Trimethicone, Talc, Arbutin, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Dimethicone, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Squalane, Adenosine, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Polyethylene, Beeswax(Cera Alba), Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Caviar Extract, Algae Extract, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Fagus Sylvatica Bud Extract, Ceramide 3, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Chloride, Fragrance(Parfum), Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Disodium EDTA, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Benzyl Salicylate, Hydroxycitronellal, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool, Citronellol. MAY CONTAIN[+/-; Titanium Dioxide(CI 77891), Iron Oxides(CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499)]
There are five shades available: No. 13 Milky Beige, No. 21 Light Beige, No. 23 Natural Beige, No. 27 Honey Beige, and No. 31 Golden Beige. I purchased this for around $11AUD in the No. 23 Natural Beige and thought it was pretty cheap for a bb cream (this retails for $32.90 in Australia so I bought it for one-third of the price!).

February 2013 - Lust Have It

Hi everyone! How is your weekend going? I can't wait till Sunday is over so I can enjoy my short lived six day holiday (I've been spending my days at work nearly every day for the past four months of my uni holidays so I've been pretty pissed about that).

On Friday I received my Lust Have It February box but I haven't had time to collect it and post about it all because of work! Before shipping out our boxes, LHI informed us that (1) we won't be receiving the special collector's box because all the items wouldn't fit in there and (2) one item won't be in the box due to Australia Post's weight restrictions.

So here's what I received in this month's box:

Cover up your phone! [TIPS]

I've been putting off this post for a while now because it's not beauty related. As some of you might know, I work as a Retail Sales Consultant at a phone accessories store. I get customers who buy phone covers just to bling up the phone and those who want super protection for their phone. Today I wanted to share with everyone my advice for buying phone accessories although some info you might already know.

If you are wondering why I am posting this, it's because I recently purchased a new phone cover on Ebay. I paid $37 which is a bit pricy for a phone cover but it's made of PU leather (really good quality) and the design is really cute. This is from a Korean brand, Happymori, and they have really cute cases and mainly cater for iPhones and Samsung devices.

So here are the general basics of phone accessories:

February Wishlist

There always comes a time when you don't have enough money and you want all these goodies that you can't buy. That's happening to me right now. Although I've been working nearly every day lately, my expenses have been piling up from food, transport, and the uni semester quickly approaching.

Here are a couple of items I'm lusting over right now:

OOTD - Romwe

Hey lovelies! I haven't done an outfit post in a while nor have I posted anything about my Romwe purchases as I promised so today is a combination of the two! I will be reviewing two items from my purchase as my other items are in the wash and haven't been able to take photos.

In my first Romwe order, I purchased three pairs of leggings and a floral sleeveless chiffon top.

Date ordered: 19 / 01
Date dispatched: 23 / 01
Date received: 06 / 02

I originally thought that Romwe was based in China as I sometimes receive newsletters with Chinese but my items were shipped from Singapore. You are provided with a tracking number once dispatched and I could only track my item up until it left Singapore, which is useless. I didn't have any problems with my order though but there are a number of bad reviews out there on Google that I've read before placing my order but I'm glad everything went smoothly!

Each item was packaged nicely in their own bag. There wasn't that brand new / factory smell that you sometimes get with clothing - am I being weird about the smell? And just a heads up, my boyfriend took these photos so if you don't like it - blame him! :D

Top - Romwe
Leggings - Romwe
Sandals - Tony Bianco

A walk down memory lane

Hi lovelies! This post is going to be different from my usual posts but just a little something that made me nostalgic. Last night my boyfriend and I were sharing Youtube links with each other of old school songs back in the 90s or in our primary school days. It really brings back memories of my childhood days where I would wake up early every Saturday morning and stay up watching either the Disney channel, Video Hits or Rage.

I used to be in love with the R&B boy band Blue. Does anyone remember them? My favourite songs were All Rise, One Love, and Fly By. While listening to some of their songs, I'm still surprised I remember the lyrics considering its been over ten years. They're still so sexy!

Listening to them again on Youtube really makes you miss the old days where music used to be more meaningful instead of just repetition, singing about doing drugs and getting drunk, or hitting it up at the club.

And who could forget Backstreet Boys and Nick Carter? You are my fire, the one desire! If you don't agree that music back in the 90s is better than today's mainstream music, I have nothing to say to you...

I used to obsess over Usher when I was in primary school as well. His R&B songs back then are so much better than the songs he produces these days and are more meaningful. I'm not saying that music he makes these days aren't good, but his best ones are the old school R&B songs.

So what about the female artists?

Like Usher, Jennifer Lopez has been around for quite a while and her old songs were the best. She was my favourite female R&B artist as a kid and I think she has a better booty than Kim Kardashian - J.Lo has the original booty!

I didn't know too many girl bands back then since I was more of a fangirl of boy bands but TLC have amazinggg songs. Check out how funky their outfits and make up were back. So gangster hehe

So that's my walk down memory lane! What are some of your favourite old school artists and songs?

I've also created a new Facebook page and I would really appreciate it if everyone clicked Like! <3

Winner of giveaway and Tony Moly - Egg Pore Silky Smooth Balm

Guess what day it is everyone! It's the day my giveaway ends! Today I will be announcing the lucky winner so fingers crossed that that lucky person is you! I will also be reviewing Tony Moly's Egg Pore Silky Smooth Balm from my Korea Depart haul. If you've ever wanted a golden egg as a primer, then look no further! Koreans always find a way to attract customers to buy their products through quirky and cute packaging.

Now to announce the lucky winner of my giveaway!

*drum rolls*

Sally Hansen - Shoot to the Moon

Hi everyone! Hope you're enjoying your weekend so far (I know I dread them since I'm always working). My giveaway is ending in less than 24 hours so be sure to enter! I cannot stress enough, in order for your entries to be eligible you must be following via GFC so if you haven't already be sure to click join!

As mentioned in my previous post, I will be swatching Sally Hansen's Complete Salon Manicure in Shoot to the Moon which I received in my Bellabox. The Complete Salon Manicure range has been reformulated and new shades such as Shoot to the Moon have been released, although you might see the same shade from the previous formula with a different name.

This polish is a 5 steps in 1 formula - base coat, strengthener, growth treatment, colour and top coat. It's great for those who don't want to use too many products on their nails or are too lazy and just want a quick manicure. I can't say how effective it is as a alone since I used my China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat and Seche Vite top coat but I can say I love this!

February Bellabox - Valentine Time

Happy Valentine's Day Beautifuls!
To those who have a Valentine, hope you had a wonderful day with your significant other. And to the singles out there - don't worry, you can be my Valentine ;) In all seriousness, remember - you don't need Valentine's Day to show someone you love them because every day should be Valentine's Day.

Anyways, it's that time of the month again! This month Bellabox has given three random, lucky members a Tiffany and Co jewellery in their box for Valentine. Unfortunately I was one of the unlucky ones but I'm not too sad as I already own a Tiffany key necklace and one of their bracelets. The products in this month's Bellabox are "to bring out your stunning inner-glow and make you feel special".

Bellabox showering us with love hearts!

It's Skin - Macaron Lip Balm

Hey lovelies! There are four days left until the winner will be announced for my giveaway. If you haven't entered yet, hurry up and get cracking!

Today I want to review another item from my Korea Depart haul and the packaging looks just as cute as the Babyface Pure Lipstick. This time it's It's Skin Macaron Lip Balm and it's so adorable. Followers of my instagram will have seen a photo of it already and it looks just like a real macaron (note: it's spelt macaron, not macaroon so please don't get confused!). I also purchased this item on the spur of the moment because of the packaging.

For those who have not tried a macaron before, I urge you to go try one now! It tastes so deliciously good and sweet, it just melts in your mouth mmmmm...

Now if only I could eat this...

NOTD: Be My Valentine

Hi beautifuls, hope you're all having a fantastic start to the new week. I want to share with everyone the look I created for Valentine's Day and hopefully inspire you as well! I actually painted my nails twice - the first time I didn't really like the look because it looked tacky and now I can't stop looking at my nails because the new look is really cute!

I'm not going to go into detail which nail polishes I used since everyone should have black/grey, red, and pink in their collection. I used my new nail art brushes that I bought off Ebay to create the look so no more dodgy toothpicks!

It's Skin - Babyface Pure Lipstick

First of all, Happy Chinese New Year to my Asian followers! Hope you had a wonderful time celebrating with your family and friends, and received lots of red pocket money!

Secondly, my giveaway will be ending in exactly one week. If you haven't entered yet click here now before you miss out on your chance of several beauty goodies! Keep in mind that if you're not a follower your entries are ineligible as this giveaway is for my followers.

Anyways! Today I'm going to review another product from my Korea Depart haul - a lip product which you might be able to tell from the title. The product I'm going to review will be the It's Skin's Babyface Pure Lipstick.

It's Skin - Babyface Pure Lipstick

Who can resist such an adorable baby face with angel wings such as this? I must add that I sort of bought this item based purely on the packaging and the fact that it's endorsed by KPOP celebrity Nickhun... It's Korean beauty products like these that burn a hole in my wallet.

Y.E.T - Over The Rainbow

As mentioned in my previous post, I will be doing individual reviews of each product from my Korea Depart haul. Being the nail addict I am, I immediately tried the nail stickers as they are too cute to resist.
These are 'Easy Funny Nail Sticker' by Y.E.T (Yes! Enjoy Time) and I chose Over The Rainbow although I was contemplating on getting Sunny Day as well.

The product comes in 18 pieces, 9 of them of a different design and size to choose from, and a nail buffer. Look at how incredibly cute and adorable they are!

HAUL: Korea Depart

Hey everyone! Today I went to my post office and was ecstatic when my parcel from Koreadepart arrived. I ordered seven Korean beauty products that I wanted to try out (or more like sucked in to buying because of cute packaging). Can you guess what products I bought? :)

Date ordered: 27 / 01
Order shipped: 30 / 01
Date arrived: 08 / 02

I actually came across their site on Google as I was trying to find reviews of some Korean products and wanted to buy off Gmarket but realised this site is cheaper. I was a bit hesitant about placing my order with them due to the weird payment process and not having heard of them before (not even on Soompi) but I decided to give it a go. My experience with them so far is a positive one so hurray!

So what did I end up buying?

Full review coming soon! What do you think of them, yay or nay?

Lancome - Rouge in Love

Lancome's Rouge in Love lipstick collection has been around for some time now. Last week I went to visit the Lancome counter at David Jones and picked up a new shade, which you might've already seen in a previous post, to add to my collection. I already own three other Rouge in Love lippies which were bought in Asia.

In Australia this retails for $45, but I don't remember how much it was in China as it was duty-free, came in a pack of three, and my parents paid for it.

The collection is categorised into three different moods:
  • Jolis Matins - for daytime wear; identified with the letter M
  • Boudoir Time - for cocktail hours; identified with the letter B
  • Tonight is my Night - for evening wear; identified with the letter N

Sorry for the bad photo!

The design looks very sleek and simple. The 'Rouge in Love' is printed in a mirrored square (hence the poor photo and reflection) and the Lancome branding is embossed at the bottom.

NOTD: Australis - Milky Way

Australis recently released three new nail polishes for their Galaxy collection - Milky Way, Space Jam, and Glitter Strikes Back. You can probably tell by their names or from the world 'galaxy' that they all contain glitter. As soon as I saw them online, and being the nail polish addict I am, I knew I had to get at least one of them so I went to Priceline last week before work!

I bought the Milky Way polish and I absolutely love the final look. I've never tried Australis' nail polishes so I won't be able to compare it with other polishes from the nail range.

Liebster Award

Thank you Chrissie from +10 Kapow who was kind enough to nominate me for the Liebster Award! I must admit I was quite surprised and confused as to what the award is. The word 'liebster' is a German word meaning favourite or dearest, and is passed on to upcoming bloggers with up to 200 followers.

I find that this award is a great way to let readers know more about the blogger. When nominated, there are a set of rules that are to be followed so here goes:
  1. You must post 11 facts about yourself
  2. Answer the questions set by the presenter who nominated you
  3. Nominate 11 bloggers and link them to your blog
  4. Create 11 questions for your nominees to answer
  5. Go to their blog and let them know they've been nominated
  6. No tag backs

We're gonna save the world tonight!

Hey lovelies, how is your weekend doing so far? This is a very short post to show you all the make up I wore to Swedish House Mafia's One Last Tour! I'm not a pro when it comes to make up so my main routine is usually eyeliner and mascara to make my eyes appear bigger.

I'm wearing:
Pelactiv - Hydra Daily Defense Moisturiser
Bobbi Brown - Long Wear Gel Eyeliner
Maybelline - 24Hr Colour Tattoo (Bad to the bronze)
Maybelline - The Falsies by Volum' Express
Lancome - Rouge in Love (Midnight Rose 377N)

It was actually my first time trying the 24Hr Colour Tattoo range and I absolutely love it! Stayed on the whole night of dancing without smudging or creasing which is excellent so expect a review soon! It was also my first time wearing Midnight Rose from the Rouge in Love collection and I love the colour and formula. I will do swatches for that soon as well, along with my other three lippies from the Rouge in Love collection!

Did anyone else attend Swedish House Mafia's One Last Tour? If you did, how amazing was it?!?! Enjoy the rest of your weekend and don't forget to enter my giveaway, which can be found here

[CLOSED] Celebrating new blog & Valentine's Day Giveaway

To celebrate the creation of my new blog and upcoming Valentine's Day, I want to share the love with my followers by hosting a giveaway! Starting this blog, I had no idea whether people would enjoy the posts I write or if they would even find out about it. However, seeing bloggers from all over the world visiting my blog has really inspired me to continue writing here so thank you for your support!

As this will be my first time hosting a giveaway for my followers, this giveaway will be open to all therefore international followers can enter as well! I have purchased a number of products which I thought would be great to wear out on Valentines Day (but sadly you won't receive the items on time, oops!). And sorry in advance if this giveaway isn't that great but I wanted to give a few selections for the lucky winner. Now lets get straight to the details!
