Dress up with a blazer

Blazers are an essential item in everyone's wardrobe - it's great for job interviews, the workplace for a smart casual look, or simply going out on a normal day. It makes a big difference to your outfit; you look more mature, professional, and smart.

During the Boxing Day sales I bought a blazer from Topshop which I haven't worn yet since I've been working nearly every day and the weather doesn't agree with me wearing a blazer. Today I found the opportunity to wear it out and I absolutely love it! Top it off with a structured tote bag and you have a chic outfit.

NOTD: Geometric nails

Hey everyone! Today I decided to paint a simple geometric pattern on my nails - not super crazy geometric. That would be too difficult for me to do given my limited nail art tools. I hate how my camera doesn't do much justice to the colours as the darker shade looks more aqua green in person. I guess I have myself to blame for always painting my nails at night and never being able to take photos in daylight.

The colours I used to create this look are:
  • Sportsgirl - Iceberg
  • Sportsgirl - Reef
  • Butter London - Diamond Geezer

I was actually inspired to try out the Valentine's Day nails posted on The Beauty Department but I don't have any gold nail polish in my collection (stupid me). They look SUPER cute so do check it out!

Snail Cream - the latest trend?

Yes, that's right - snail cream! I don't know how many of you have heard about it but it's one of the latest skincare product after the bb cream in Korea. I came across it while I was browsing through a forum (Soompi) a while back and initially I was a bit turned off by the sound of it. However after seeing photos of people with major skin improvements, it made me want to try it as well.

OOTD

Yesterday was my boyfriend and I's 26 months anniversary and I forgot because there were so many things going on and made plans with a friend already... So today we decided to go out! This is what I wore:

Top from Taobao
Skirt from Forever21

I'm not fashionable and all like other bloggers but I wanted to show everyone the maxi skirt I'm wearing. I'm LOVING the hues of green currently - especially mint and olive, and loving maxi skirts during the summer. The split down the middle makes the skirt look so lovely when there's a breeze. Not only that, maxi skirts elongate my figure making me look taller than I already am, hehe!

As for the top - I bought it from Taobao which is basically a Chinese Ebay but sellers only ship within China. Furthermore, the site operates in China and if you want English then you'd have to use Google translate or some other translating app. The items are dirt cheap but cheap also comes with poor quality sometimes. In order to make purchases outside of China, you would have to order through an agent and they will order and ship the items for you with a fee.

Have you bought from Taobao before? How was your experience?

January 2013 Lust Have It

Hey everyone! My Lust Have It January box arrived today and let me tell you - it is AMAZING!! It's an excellent box to start off the new year and I must admit, this is the first time I've preferred my LHI box over Bellabox. This month is the start of LHI's new collectable box series and I am loving the vintage pattern and magnetic closure making it easier to open the box.

There's also a logo of LHI on the side of the box, which I didn't get a picture of.

So lets take a look at the goodies I received:

NOTD: Floral nails

Hi everyone! I wanted to share with you my nails which I literally just painted since I disliked my blue and silver nails and decided to have another attempt at floral nails again. Please bare with me how messy they look because I used toothpicks to create the details. To top it off, a bit of it smudged while I was applying the Seche Vite top coat! I didn't know what to do to for my accent nail so I went with polka dots (I don't know what I was thinking!).

The nail polishes I used to create this look are:
  • Sportsgirl - Nude
  • Sportsgirl - Emerald City
  • Sportsgirl - Hello Sunshine
  • OPI - You Only Live Twice

I hope you like it!

January Bellabox - We Love Australia

Hi lovelies! For a while now I've been wanting to join the blogging community to share with everyone my beauty and fashion purchases, as well as review them. And just a heads up for you - I am OBSESSED with online shopping and impulse buying (it's a really big problem...).

Anyways, what's a better way than to start off with reviewing this month's Bellabox!

For those of you who don't know, Bellabox is a monthly subscription beauty box for $15 where you receive 5-6 deluxe samples to discover and delivered to your door. The exciting thing about it is you won't know what products to expect each month and there could be amazing full sized samples. In each box you will receive a card explaining the products you received in your box. As suggested in the title, this month's theme is all about Australia to celebrate the upcoming Australia Day. Now lets get straight to the products:

You, Me & Everybody - Cool It Aloe Vero Gel
Full sized sample - 100ml RRP $8.95
I have never tried any of their products but this is an amazing product, especially if you are sun burnt. It is a staple item for summer if you are out in the sun a lot as it cools and nourishes the skin. The gel is non-greasy, unfragranced, applies onto the skin like water and dries quickly!

Wotnot - Organic Facial Wipes
Full sized sample - 25 pack RRP $7.95
One can never have too many facial wipes! I have not tried any of Wotnot's products nor have I tried organic facial wipes so it will be interesting to see how my skin reacts. These wipes contain aloe vera, rosehip and sweet almond and are great for sensitive skin. Furthermore, it's 100% biodegradable and compostable so they're also great for the environment! Note: the packaging says Made in China.

Swisse - Body Wash with Vitamin B3 and Macrobiotic Sea Minerals
30ml sample - 250ml RRP $14.95
I'm not too excited about trying out this product because I'm not that into body washes. As long as I'm clean then I'm happy! The packaging looks exactly like the hand cream I received in a previous box so I mustn't get them mixed up! Your skin will apparently absorb all the vitamins and sea minerals when you use this.

Natio - Pure Mineral Skin Perfecting BB Cream SPF 15
5g sample - 50g RRP $14.95
I received a medium sample, which might or might not be suitable for my skin tone. I'm not too excited about this BB cream as it comes in a sachet, which is a bit messy and hard to store the remaining product if you don't use it all. This BB cream is available in three shades - fair, medium, and tan. In terms of sun protection, there are other BB creams out there with higher SPFs!

Face of Australia - Massage Therapy Lipshine
Full sized sample - 15ml RRP $10.95
I'm not a fan of lip gloss because I find them too sticky and shiny so I most likely won't be using this. The tip of this lip gloss has six small bumps to give your lips a 'massage' when you're applying the product but I don't see the big deal. I would've preferred receiving the colour max eye shadow palettes.

Overall this month's box is a little underwhelming compared to the previous boxes I've received from Bellabox as they set the standards quite high! What did you receive in your Bellabox this month and what were your thoughts? Let me know in the comments below and I hope you enjoyed reading my review!
